COVID-19 Procedure Updates:
With some restrictions related to COVID-19 easing in the weeks ahead, FOPAS volunteers are gradually updating our procedures as follows:
Beginning May 16, we will transition to updated Saturday adoption procedures. Adoptions by appointment will continue, while mobile adoptions will remain on pause.
Thank you for your understanding! Stay safe and healthy!
All pets adopted from FOPAS are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for heartworms (dogs) and FIV/FeLeuk (cats), on heart worm prevention (if applicable), and microchipped.
CAT ADOPTIONS take place at the shelter every Saturday from 11am-1pm. We also offer weekdays by appointment only. To limit the number of people in the cat building, we prefer an application be submitted and approved prior to visitor arrival. Appointments are also preferred for shots and nail trims. Visitors are required to wear masks and the number of people in the building at any given time is limited. Thank you for your understanding if you are asked to wait outside until a group exits the building.
DOG ADOPTIONS take place at the shelter every Saturday from 10am-12pm. We also offer weekdays by appointment only. To limit the number of people in the dog building, we prefer an application be submitted and approved prior to visitor arrival. Dogs will be shown outdoors in the play yards to allow our volunteers the ability to remain 6ft away from potential adopters. If the recommended 6ft social distance cannot be maintained, masks are required.
Adult Cats: $50
Seniors for Seniors: Cats 8+ years old adopted to people 60+ years old: $25
*If adopting more than 1 cat, the second fee is 50% off.
