On May 12, following a horrible car accident at I-435 & 45 Hwys, Missy was frightened and separated from her family, Happy & Heidi Silva. They live in Austin, Texas and were forced to return home without their beloved Missy. Our smart girl must have known she would have friends in Parkville and started heading our way. Chuck, of Northland Tow, immediately began searching for her, posting flyers and keeping in contact with her family. Enter Steve, who continued to post flyers and couldn't sleep at night worrying about her, and Jay, who didn't hesitate when asked to help.
After being spotted a few times nearby, limping but still too frightened to let someone approach, Jay agreed that setting a trap at Backyard Bash would be the best chance to catch her. The trap was set on June 28 and by morning, Missy was caught and oh-so-relieved to see all the friendly faces who cared so much about a little lost girl. Missy received a thorough check-up from Amity Woods Animal Hospital and got all dolled up to see her dad. He caught the first flight out and arrived in Parkville just a few hours after receiving the great news.
We're so thankful to have heroes in our lives. Chuck, Steve and Jay ~ You're the BEST! And to all the FOPAS volunteers who helped with the search, thank you. Here are photos of Hero Steve with Missy and of the teary reunion with Missy's dad, kisses from Steve, and FOPAS volunteer, Becky. Congratulations, to this loved little girl and to Happy & Heidi. We can only imagine the warm welcome home for this special family member!
