If memory serves me right next Sunday will make two years ago that I adopted Murphy (I am not sure the exact date as he ate his adoption papers). There has not been minute in that time I am not happy that the big goof came into my life. No matter if we are playing at the local dog park, or out chasing quail he is always a pleasure to be with. In some ways he is as big a mystery to me now as he was the day we headed home from the shelter. I think the trainer that did much of Murphy's hunting training summed it up best " Murphy truly is a special dog". I hear all the time that to be a good hunting dog you have to leave them in a kennel and only let them out when you want to train or hunt them. Murphy has proved that wrong. I hear good hunting dogs can't be found in shelters. Murphy has proved that wrong. I hear good hunting dogs don't make good pets. Murphy has proved that wrong. For Murphy is a excellent companion that shares my home and through the dedication of the people at FOPAS that saved him he came from a shelter. But Murphy is so much more then just a hunting dog he is my friend. He knows when I have had a hard day, he knows when I am happy and shares that happiness with me through his enthusiasm. I have enclosed some pictures that sum up the many aspects of Murphy. In closing I again thank all of you at FOPAS for your dedication and hard work in saving and helping so many special dogs to bring joy to so many lifes.
