Suzanne adopted K.C. (fka Betty the Basset) one year ago and recently shared: "K.C. aka Betty (our red and white basset) we adopted a year ago and has fit in wonderfully with our family. In fact our young cat Sadie took to her the minute she walked in the door! Thus is why this story. When I took K.C. to the vet for the first time Sadie went along for moral support. Ever since they go together and I always held Sadie in my arms and K.C. on a leash, as I do not believe in cages. Well Sadie our cat got scared as I entered the vet clinic this fall for a check up and scratched and got loose and ran into the woods behind the vet clinic. I left K.C. in the vet clinic while I looked and looked and looked. I walked for hours and no Sadie. These woods are like the ones behind your shelter only add a river and thickets so full of cockleburs.....after no avail I went back to the shelter and I knew the stern look I would get for no cage.....but they were the best...they told me to go home and get Sadie's bed and something of mine for the animal trap they would put out behind the vet where she ran off. After a few more hours and not sure what to do but go look again I decided to take K.C. with me this time. I told K.C. to "go find sissy"and kept repeating it. K.C. took me to the exact spot were she entered the woods and we went all over up and down and over and under things. I kept saying "go find sissy, go find sissy" and K.C. finally ended up at a old abandoned garage with outside stairs. She wanted up the stairs and I pulled her leash back and said again "go find sissy." She went up the stairs and back down them and under them and out popped Sadie and K.C. Sissy licked K.C. on the face and K.C. did the same. I could not believe it and she never would have come out for anyone but her. I believe I would not have our cat today if it was not for our K.C. and I would not have K.C. if it was not for you folks putting her on the internet! She is our little angel and has proven herself as a true family member! So thank you again for letting K.C. aka Betty be a part of our family in Iowa!" What a wonderful "tail" of rescue and friendship. We wish Suzanne, K.C. and Sadie many happy, healthy years together! And they lived happily ever after... |
