Gimme Shelter!!

FOPAS opened its doors to lost and abandonded pets in 1999 with a promise to care for them until adopted. Utilizing a shed by the railroad tracks, a small group of volunteers fed, walked and loved any cat or dog that came their way.  When the shed would hold no more, they solicited foster homes.  When the foster homes would hold no more, they found a larger facility and during this time the dedicated volunteers kept coming.  Today volunteers care for, until adopted, over 400 animals a year.

Again, it is time for FOPAS to grow.  We have secured eight acres of land located in Platte County close to Hwy 152 and Childress. On this land we will construct a new shelter with ground breaking scheduled for September 2010.  This specially designed shelter will allow volunteers to efficiently provide safe and comfortable care for over 100 dogs and cats while they wait for adoption.

We are offering a one time opportunity to contribute to the Founder's Fund and be recognized as one of only a few initial supporter of this new facility.  Contributions will be honored in a prominent locaton in the entry of the facility.
